The Fellowship is a registered charity that exists to promote the welfare and interests of retired NHS staff. It was established in 1978 and has gone from strength to strength, enjoying the support of NHS Chief Executives at local and national level.
Our local branches are a key part of the Fellowship and members enjoy a range of sporting, leisure and social activities. The affairs of the Fellowship are administered by a National Council, made up of representatives from each region.
The Fellowship has a Benevolent Fund to support members and their partners in need. Members also receive a regular newsletter and access to legal services, shopping discounts and offers from our commercial partners. A National Conference and holiday, open to all branches, is held annually in different parts of the UK.
There is a small annual subscription, which is fixed at local level in order to run the branch and to make a contribution to the national organisation.
As one Fellowship member put it:
"Our branch is absolutely fantastic. We have social, welfare and educational activities. They are a great crowd"
