Holidays And Interest Groups
The Fellowship provides a programme of holidays and have recently started
a number of special interest groups.
We are always happy to hear from you with any suggestions you may have about where members might like to go for
a holiday and any ideas about interest groups that we could set up regionally or nationally through the website
A programme of holidays is organised every year in a variety of locations – you can go walking on Dartmoor or the Lake District, relax in the sunshine abroad or perhaps visit a Christmas market. Holidays are open to all members, and partners are invited whether or not they are a member. Have a look at the current programme of holidays and short breaks. MAY: JERSEY – An unspoilt island with a unique blend of British and French influences famed for its hospitality. MAY: ROYAL HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY CHELSEA FLOWER SHOW 2012– Staying in half board accommodation in a high quality hotel in a riverside location on the outskirts of London. This holiday includes entry to the Chelsea Flower Show for the afternoon and evening session from 3.30pm to close at 8pm. A chance to grab some bargains in the great plant sell off from 4pm on the last day of the show. Coach travel with low level access and hostess serving tea and coffee. JUNE: SPRING WALKING HOLIDAY (NOT JUST FOR WALKERS) – includes good quality centrally located hotel in Torquay, Dartmoor walks, Cornish coast path walk, boat trip in Plymouth Sound and to a lovely Cornish seaside town, Nordic walking instruction and trial. SEPTEMBER: LAKE DISTRICT WALKING HOLIDAY – Explore this magnificent area whilst staying half board at a good quality hotel. OCTOBER: In addition to these Spring and Summer holidays and breaks, Della is offering the usual popular autumn Fellowship holiday, this year to the beautiful island of Crete in an upgraded hotel next to the sea with excellent facilities. Rooms are light and airy, many with lovely views and a balcony or terrace. Board at the hotel is fully inclusive with drinks. A full programme is planned including excursion, welcome reception, talks, walks, cocktail party and a farewell party. CHRISTMAS MARKETS AND PARTY BREAKS: – If you are interested in celebrating this year’s festive season in style with other members now is the time to start thinking about it. There are no single room supplements on some of these festive holidays

SINGLE AND DISABLED TRAVELLERS: – If you are a single traveller and are anxious about travelling on your own, please let Della know. They will usually be able to give your details to another member who is going on the same holiday and is happy to meet and accompany single travellers. If you are disabled, Della are able to make travel and room arrangements for you and to book mobility aids and have them delivered.
We have started a number of interest groups for postal and branch members across the UK to complement the activities in branches and to enable postal members to participate in Fellowship activities. Take a look at the interest groups we currently have; we will let you know about new groups that are in the pipeline and information about them will be added to the website when they are set up.

NHS Retirement Fellowship and Civil Service Retirement Fellowship Photographic Competition
2012 is the European Union Year of Active Ageing and this is the theme of the national photographic competition
which the Fellowship is launching this year in partnership with the Civil Service Retirement Fellowship. The competition
has received a massive boost with sponsorship from the Civil Service Insurance Society to provide major prizes of
photographic equipment worth up to a £1,000.
