Why not join one of our many branches to make new friends, rediscover past friendships and socialise with like minded people. Members enjoy a range of activities and interests participating in a variety of events. Walking, golf, photography and sightseeing are just some of the activities enjoyed.

There are many benefits we are delighted to offer our members. Offers range from Worldwide Travel insurance with no upper age limit providing you join before you are 75, discounted car and home insurance (CSIS), free will writing (Accord Legal Services) to discounts on shopping (including Blue Light Card, Health Service Discounts Cotswold Outdoor and Cartridgeworld) and sea (Fred Olsen) and river cruises (Riviera Travel), and membership of the Civil Service Club in London. In addition, we have a Benevolent Fund which can provide grants to members in need Our Fellowship Extra leaflet provides details of many of these benefits and is sent to members with their newsletter.
If you join as a postal member you will be kept informed of our activities including our AGM and conference, receive our Fellowship newsletter and be able to take advantage of the discounts and benefits, without attending branch meetings.

Branch member – There are local branches across Britain and new members are welcome to join our friendly organisation, to benefit from the services on offer and to support retired colleagues. Find your closest branch from the list of locations in our Branch Finder and contact them using the contact button on the branch page. Membership fees for branch membership are collected by the branch.
You can join as a postal member online by setting up a Direct Debit , by making a one off payment via the website for a year’s membership or by calling one of the numbers below to pay by debit or credit card. Annual membership is £20 until 31 March 2023 and will increase to £30 from 1st April 2023:
